Earlier this month I sold a couple of spoons, I packed them well but when they arrived one of them was broken. I quickly sent out a suitable replacement and the customer was very gracious about the whole thing, but it was still a good lesson for me. The wood was African Mahogany and I had never carved it before, and so had no idea really of its durability. But I thought it looked cool and someone wanted to give me money for it, so I went ahead without testing it. I have since carved and broken my own spoon from this wood, come to find out it’s a lot more brittle than it first seemed. So I’m posting it here, now y’all can keep me honest. Sneaky camera angles and the overuse of filters don’t make good spoons.
.
Unrelated, I am selling some African Mahogany if anyone is interested, very high-quality. .
