Homemade Bath Bombs! I’ve been making these as gifts for a while but now I have a bath I can finally enjoy them for myself. And let me tell you, soaking in the tub with one of these bad boys and a glass of red is such a cheap but satisfying form of self care 🧖🏽♀️🥀 .
Some of the ingredients you’ll already have in the kitchen like olive oil, bi carb soda and maybe even water 💦 A few of the others might be less common. .
If you’re lucky, the bulk store might sell citric acid, arrowroot powder and epsom salts plastic free. Otherwise these can all be found at the supermarket. Yes they’ll be packaged but if you look at the bigger picture, a little bit of packaging now might save you a lot more packaging down the road. .
When you get into making low waste and low tox products from scratch, you’ll start to notice a few staple ingredients popping up in lots of different DIY recipes across beauty and skincare products, toiletries, household cleaners etc. For example…
.
Arrowroot powder – dry shampoo, deodorant, body balm, makeup, thickening sauces
.
Citric Acid – toilet fizzies or toilet bowl cleaner, dishwasher tablets or powder detergent, canning, cheese making
.
Epsom Salts – bath soak, plant fertiliser, household cleaner (use to scrub pots, pans, tiles and other surfaces) .
