Switching to Sustainable – Make a Checklist.
When you’re trying to start living a more sustainable life, it may seem like you need to immediately throw out excess things you own and go out and buy things that are made for this purpose. But that is absolutely unnecessary. What you already own is like a gold mine!
Sustainable living is trying to avoid generating large amounts of waste and using products that do not harm the earth.
Make a checklist.
Split it into the things that you already have and the ones that you need.
You probably already own lunchboxes, steel/reusable cutlery, tote bags or any kind of reusable bag. Just add them to your supply of sustainable items.
Next, the things you need. You probably do not own a toothbrush that is eco-friendly. There are tons of options. Pick a brand that has eco-friendly packaging. Reusable straws – ones made of bamboo or steel. Ideally, saying no to using straws altogether would be the best way to go but sometimes you do need a straw. And for that reason, owning one stainless is a good idea. It’ll last you forever!
And after all this if things remain, Donate Them! Maybe find a friend who’ll try switching with you and you can do swaps to get you need.
It’s all about having the least harmful impact you can on the earth. So remember to only buy what you absolutely need and do not buy plastics.
